Ruby Tuesdays

Last night I went out to dinner with some girlfriends. I was determined to get something half way healthy. I was going to order a quesadilla but the swiss cheese deterred me from it. So I ended up ordering the Santa Fe Chicken Salad. It was delicious and I ate almost the whole thing...I wanted to see how badly or how well I did with my choice so I looked up Ruby Tuesday's nutrition guide and to my surprise I didn't do that bad...
Santa Fe Chicken Salad 675 Calories, 35g Fat, 8g Fiber
NOT...exactly diet food but it is better than some of the other choices!

Week 2 Day 2 Run Tonight

On Tuesday I did not want to start my week two program. It went by really quickly thankfully because of my awesome workout playlist!

I am anxious to get to the gym tonight to get my 2nd run of the week in!

When I look in the mirror I see changes. I hope they are actually happening!

Week 1 Results

I was nervous this morning heading to work. I didn't want to get weighed in! I wasn't expecting to lose anything! I was feeling better about myself though! I lost 3lbs!!!!

I will get measured on Wednesday and post those results!

I think I need to go another step further. I think I need to give up Diet Pop! Any comments or suggestions?

Eating Healthy is Expensive!

It is really frustrating to me that eating healthy is expensive. I knew I was making tacos tonight for dinner. I had to go to the store for a tomato and lettuce. I decided that getting whole wheat tortillas would be a better choice for me than the regular tortillas. I grabbed $5 cash and headed to the store after my workout. I go to the tortilla isle and find the high fiber low carb tortillas. They cost $4.09 for 8 tortillas! I couldn't believe it! Oh well, I bought them knowing it was the right thing to do! Brown's County Market is a rip off by the way Aimee!

The tacos were delicious by the way...I ate in moderation and much less ground beef and sour cream than normal. ; ) Baby steps...

Another Level of Motivation

My oldest sister recently sent this photo to me. It is from 2005. It brought tears to my eyes because I think I look absolutely gorgeous in the photo. The way I look in that photo is how I feel and who I am on the inside. I know that person is not reflected on the outside of me right now. I know I may never get back to that exact size or weight but I am defenitely determined to try. Thanks Kelli!

Couch to 5K

I finished the 2nd day of the Couch to 5K running program last night. It is a lot easier than I thought it would be. Week 1 is walking briskly for 5 minutes to warm up, then 60 seconds of jogging/running, 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes. The workout goes by really fast! I am thinking of signing up for a 5K race in the Spring. I wouldn't compete just participate!

CLCS Biggest Loser Competition

Today starts the 9 week Biggest Loser Competition before Spring Break at CLCS. So far, there are about 15 teachers participating. Not only for me but for the others, I hope this program gives people the motivation they need to get their health back on track. For me, that means eating healthier, eating less and working out more. I am thinking of getting this app for my Iphone called Couch to 5K. I am going to start tonight...after Harper goes to bed.

M & Ms

Did you know that for every M & M you eat you have to walk one length of a football field to burn it off?

Grad School Starts Up Again Tonight

I have my third course in Grad School starting tonight. I hope we get out early enough so that I can go to the gym! I wonder how many days it will take for me to get addicted to the gym?

The Biggest Loser competition is getting off the ground here at school. We might even get the corporation to match the prize money! Also, the school maybe able to get a percentage of the insurance for doing the program!

Good things are happening!!!

10 Reasons to get FIT in 2010!

1. My 29th Birthday! UGH! Are you kidding me?!?!? I can't believe I am going to be 30 in a year. Saying that sounds really weird. I need to get my lifestyle under control before that birthday!

2. Mariah Carey concert on February 13th. I want to be looking HOT on my date night in the city with Matt. I am so excited because for over 14 months I have never had a morning where I got to sleep in and not tend to Harper. I love her to death but I am ready for her over night stay at her Grandma and Grandpa Lundeen's house.

3. Going to Arizona to visit the Erpelding's and Smudde's.

4.My Godson Jackson's First Communion on April 18th.

5. Spending the summer at the Pool with Harper. No one likes a fat lady in a bathing suit.

5. I have about 15 pairs of jeans that I would like to fit back in to!

6. If and when I ever have another baby, I don't want labor to be as long as it was with Harper! 30 Hours is ridiculous!

7. I want to set a good example for Harper!

8. I want to have the inner self confidence that I portray on the outside.

9. I have a couple of weddings to attend this year...

10. I lost 70 lbs back in 2003/2004. I CAN do it again! Here is a picture of me on my wedding day 06/17/06....the SKINNIEST day of my life!

Running Backwards

So I made to the gym tonight! I worked out for 30 minutes...20 mins on the elliptical and 10 mins on the treadmill.

I really hate the muscle heads (or they think they are) guys that run backwards on the treadmill. Here I am dragging
myself to the gym, then working my butt off to run a mile and I have to get on the treadmill next to the guy running backwards.
Whatever!

Good news! I have the ball rolling for the Biggest Loser competition at school!

Girl Scout Cookies

I love how Girl Scout Cookies start getting sold right after the holidays. I just told myself that this year was going to be the year to lose the weight, again. But I just found myself buying a box of Tagalongs from a 2nd grader AND I told two other Girl Scouts that I would buy a box from them.

I weigh more than I ever have in my entire life. I am continually disappointed in myself for eating terribly and not working out enough. In my heart, I don't want to be a fat mom and I want to set a good example for my daughter. I joined Cardinal fitness back at the end of November and I have been there 5 times since then. It is time to take control of my life!

I talked with a co-worker this a.m. about the YMCA in DeKalb. She has worked out for 10 days in a row. It got me thinking...why don't we start a Biggest Loser competition/challenge at school....more to follow.
